How our guarantee works
Our 3-month service guarantee
Every floor we restore is covered by a 3-month service guarantee, starting on the day the work is completed. If a fault caused by our workmanship or the materials we supplied appears in that time, we will come back and put it right free of charge.
The guarantee covers problems such as:
A finish that peels, lifts or does not cure as it should
Sanding marks or uneven areas left by our work
Stain colour that is uneven or does not match the approved sample
Boards or blocks we repaired or replaced that come loose under normal use
The guarantee applies under normal domestic or agreed commercial use, provided the aftercare advice we give you is followed.
What is not covered
Gap filling is not covered by the guarantee. Timber floors expand and contract with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity, and with structural movement in the building. As boards expand and contract, resin filler or pine slivers can crack, shrink or drop out, and gaps can reopen. This is the nature of the timber rather than a fault in the work, so we cannot guarantee it — see our gap filling page for more on how we approach it.
The guarantee also does not cover:
Water damage, leaks, flooding or spills left standing on the floor
Marks from furniture moved or used without protective pads
Wear from pets' claws, stiletto heels, grit and castors
Problems with the subfloor, joists, damp or the structure of the building
Natural colour change in the timber from light and ageing
Damage from unsuitable cleaning products or lack of maintenance
How to make a claim
Spotted something? Get in touch with a short description and some photos. We will arrange a visit, inspect the floor and, if the issue is covered, agree a date to put it right. Full details are set out in our terms and conditions.
