Floor Restoration Services for Schools
Floor sanding and sports lacquer for schools in Kingston, with court markings and full RAMS.
Floor restoration for schools in Kingston
From sports halls to Victorian classrooms, school floors see constant heavy use. Over time the lacquer wears through, court markings fade, boards loosen and the surface can become slippery or splintered. Our team restores school floors so they are safe, hardwearing and good-looking again.
Our school services
Dust-free sanding of halls and classrooms back to fresh timber
Hardwearing sports lacquer with suitable slip resistance
Court markings painted between coats and sealed under the final lacquer
Replacing damaged blocks and boards before sanding
Working in the holidays
Most of our school work is booked into the holidays, and the summer fills up quickly. Curing time for the lacquer is built into the plan, so the hall is ready when term starts. Small areas can often be completed over a weekend.
Paperwork for schools
Before we start, we supply risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), product data sheets and a copy of our £5m public liability insurance. We follow your site rules, sign in and out and keep work areas secured.
Restoration vs replacement
Many school halls have solid maple, beech or oak floors that were built to last for generations. A restoration is far cheaper than a replacement and much quicker to complete. It also keeps waste out of landfill, which matters to schools with sustainability targets. We provide a clear, fixed quote that fits school budgeting and procurement processes.
Between restorations
A simple maintenance plan keeps a school floor in good condition for years. Barrier mats, pH-neutral cleaners and periodic re-coats all extend the life of the finish. We give your site team written guidance after every job.
More for your school
This service is part of our restoration services for public spaces. Between full restorations, re-coating the lacquer keeps the hall protected for longer. Damaged parquet is put right with our parquet repair service. See our projects for examples of school halls we have restored.
Questions about floor restoration services for schools
Can you supply RAMS for our site?
We provide risk assessments, method statements and insurance details before work begins. Our team is used to working on occupied sites with strict safety rules.
When can the furniture go back?
Light foot traffic in socks is usually fine after a few hours. Furniture can go back after 24–48 hours, and rugs after about a week while the finish fully cures.
Can the work fit around term times?
We regularly work during holidays, evenings and weekends. Most halls are finished in a few days, so disruption is kept to a minimum.
How many days does a typical job take?
A typical room takes one to two days, including finishing. Bigger floors and any repairs take a little longer, and we confirm the timeline with your fixed quote.
Are you insured?
We are fully insured with £5m public liability cover. Certificates are available on request, which schools, churches and landlords often need before work starts.
Do you do court lines on hall floors?
Yes. After sanding we apply a slip-resistant sports lacquer and can repaint court markings for badminton, netball and other games between coats so they are sealed in. Read more about our school floor restoration.
What our customers say
Very good parquet restoration
“The parquet in our dining room had several loose blocks and lots of bitumen. The result is excellent. The job ran over by a day because of extra repairs, but they talked us through it and kept the price fair.”
Coombe
Decking looks much better
“The deck looks warm and rich again. We had to rebook once because of rain, which is understandable, and they were flexible about the new date. Would use again.”
Surbiton
Great with our dogs around
“With two dogs, we needed a tough finish. They recommended a hard-wearing lacquer and it has held up brilliantly so far.”
