Victorian Pine Floorboards Restored
Tired, painted-edge Victorian floorboards in Kingston restored to warm, natural pine.
About this project
The owners had lifted an old carpet to find the original Victorian pine boards underneath, with paint around the edges, old staining and a number of split or loose boards.
We replaced the damaged boards with matched reclaimed pine, secured loose boards and punched in protruding nails. The floor was then sanded back to fresh timber with our dust-free machines, working carefully around the original skirting.
Pine slivers closed the larger gaps, and two coats of natural hardwax oil gave a soft, hard-wearing finish. The family were walking on the floor again after two days.
